Where printing
professionals and
creators meet
CASE 01Introduction
We created a brand book called introduction
as a tool to correctly convey the concept of atelier gray.
In order to express the brand image,
we tried many types of paper and adjusted
the colors many times.
This section introduces design, photography, paper, and printing,
all of which we carefully craft.
01.Planning
01.Planning
We came up with ideas to convey the space called atelier gray and the feelings contained in it, and planned a brand book. We will freely expand our image while using various materials and print samples.
02.Production plan
02.Production plan
Determine specifications, design direction, and schedule. Production design meetings with professional staff for paper selection, printing, and book binding processes. Select the paper while actually touching it, and get a concrete idea of the finished image.
03.Editorial design
03.Editorial design
Once the materials have been prepared, work on the design. Take photos based on the produced rough image, and try different options for the layout and cropping patterns. Also think about and produce the text at the same time.
04.Image design
04.Image design
Correct the color tone to reflect the actual feel and message in the photo manuscript. In addition, the work of processing the data to make it optimal for print reproduction was also carried out with the support of dedicated staff.
05.Color proofing
05.Color proofing
Carry out trial printing and check the tone. With the monitors, printing presses, and lighting in a color-managed environment, provide feedback on the spot on deviations from the image and ensure color reproduction.
06.Printing
06.Printing
Since we use a digital inkjet printer that can use offset printing paper, you can experience the speed of printing only one copy or one book without making a plate from the data.
07.Cutting / Binding
07.Cutting / Binding
After printing is completed, the book is bound using the processing machine installed in atelier gray, which performs folding, binding, and cutting. Visitors can experience the process of making a book right in front of their eyes.
08.Completion
08.Completion
